Senator Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has said the All Progressives Congress would employ the use of fear and intimidation to silence the opposition parties during the electioneering campaigns.

Melaye who stated this in Abuja  at the Atiku Family Nite Exclusive Movie Premiere organised by Celebrities for Atiku Mandate, urged opposition parties not to be intimidated but resist any attempt to remain silent in the face of injustice and poverty plaguing the country.

According to Melaye, “The reason we may not get it right in the forthcoming elections is fear.

“In an unjust society, silence is a crime. What President Buhari administration is currently selling is fear.

“All of us must come out of our cocoons and resist fear. What APC wants to sell fear in 2019?

“We must show some capacity of boldness. Nobody will leave Nigeria for APC. Nigeria belongs to all of us.”

Also speaking, Segun Showunmi, Director General, Media and Publicity of Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, said a civilian dictatorship is worse than a real dictatorship or monarchy.

He therefore urged Nigerians to resist any attempt to rig the forthcoming elections and other electoral malfeasance.

He assured that Atiku’s administration would create jobs for the citizenry, adding that all hands must be on deck to ensure the enthronement of true democracy.

Showunmi lamented that Nigeria as of today has been factionalised and balkanised by the present administration, contending that Nigerians need a President who would unite the country and pull it out of the present brink.

In his remarks, Mazi Dickson Iroegbu, National Coordinator and Convener of Celebrities for Atiku Mandate [CEFAM], said the forum was organised to showcase to the world the film entitled, “The Good Husband,” which chronicles the activities of Atiku, the Presidential candidate of Peoples’ Democratic Party[PDP] as a good husband.

Iroegbu who underscored the need for all leaders at all levels to be good husbands and wives to effectively lead in other spheres of life.

He called for credible, free and fair elections in 2019 elections, adding that election must not be a do or die affair.

End.
